Adding essential oils to food - yes or no?

Do you add essential oils to your food and or drinks?

The largest users of essential oils are the food and flavouring industry.

BUT, these oils are generally altered to reduce some of their more violate components. This process is called deterpenation. Doing this makes them safer to use.

When they are added to food and drinks, the amount used is quite small. We are talking parts per million.

So, when you use your own essential oils at home for flavouring, you might be inadvertently doing harm to yourself and your family.

It may seem convenient to add a drop of Basil or Oregano to your spaghetti sauce, but consider how much raw material went into producing that oil. The oil doesn’t contain any vitamins or minerals either. If you’re adding them to a hot product, their therapeutic value is lost.

Please use the fresh herb. It is safer, more effective and overall better for all.
